We rejoiced to worship with our brothers and sisters in Kabil today as we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord. Several churches met together for a sunrise service on a hilltop. 200 were in attendance. Some of the people we introduced in Islands on the Edge have since found work on others islands and have moved on. The little slum church building has been bull-dozed along with all the shacks of the squatters where we filmed. That’s to be expected when reaching squatters in these poor slums, but the church continues to grow, and they are now meeting in a rented hall. Junita—who shared her testimony and introduced her son, Michael Christian, in the video—is expecting another baby, due any day now.

Update: Children’s Home in Cambodia

Since the filming of Islands on the Edge, we returned to the Cambodian children’s home that was featured in the video and found the children and the mango orchards all growing well! The girls’ dorm is nearly completed, and the men are working on the roof. When it’s finished we’ll be able to house 20 young ladies along with one of their teachers.

The premier showing of episode one, Islands on the Edge, was hosted by Heritage Bible Church in Greer, SC with close to a thousand in attendance. At the end of the film senior pastor, Dan Brooks , challenged those in attendance to carefully consider whether or not the trajectory and focus of our lives is really consumed with the King and His kingdom agenda.
